Spot export pricing of US acrylonitrile was
stable for the second consecutive week. This was amid demand talk moderate
and spot ACN up $30/mt. The assessed level has increased
$115/mt from the beginning of February. Upstream propylene contracts
settled 8c/lb more than the March 31 month. Spot
propylene prices fell 0.25 cents/lb compared to a week ago, at 43.75c/lb on
April 11. The ammonia market was talked steadily declining
in Q2. "With falling [propylene] and ammonia, I expect prices to hold up
in April then begin to flatten and fall," one acrylonitrile source said,
adding demand is neither depressed nor strong but "just OK." While
geopolitical conditions, namely the Ukraine War, resulted in some material
being imported into the US, those inflows have mostly ceased, per market
feedback....
