The Asian MTBE FOB Singapore was down $47/mt from the previous day to $938/mt, while the MTBE FOB Singapore Factor remained unchanged at 1.155. Market on Close May 2 had no offers or bids. Brent crude futures for July fell to $84.23/b from $88.56/b in April 30. This was a reaction to the fall in crude prices in US. The drop was a result of a rise in US crude stocks and a decrease in US refinery demands. A trader, however, said that it was difficult to understand how a rise in US crude stocks would cause such a dramatic reaction on the oil market. The crude prices fell more than 3%.
