On May 29, Asian isomer grade mixed xylene dropped $5/mt per day to $952.50/mt at FOB Korea, $966.50/mt at CFR Unv1 while remaining stable at $956.50/mt at CFR China. This was due to the emergence of offers for June second-half loadings FOB Korea. The MX price drop occurred despite strong upstream prices. The domestic market in China, however, reacted strongly to higher crude oil futures prices. The domestic East China ex tank price was assessed Yuan 46.66/mt more at Yuan 7,858.33/mt or approximately $949/mt based on import parity. Ex-tank June at Yuan 7,885/mt, or approximately $952.30/mt. The market was generally thinner than usual due to several participants attending a major industry conference in South Korea during the week beginning May 27.
