Market participants report slow activity / Crude Oil Futures Spike on the Day

US Gulf Coast benzene prices dropped on April 25 due to an increase in crude oil futures. Downstream styrene prices also fell. Spot April DDP benzene was 399 cents/gal USG DDP and April FOB at 404 cents/gal USG FOB, both 2 cents lower on the day. Prices for May also fell by 2 cents, reflecting the market structure. They were assessed at 399 Cents/gal DDP and 404 Cents/gal FOB. Ethylbenzene was assessed at 351 Cents/gal for April DDP and at 357 Cents/gal for May DDP. Both were flat on the same day.
