Asian benzene was up $4/mt on a day-to-day
basis at $750.33/mt on July 3, following an increase in adjacent markets, such
as paraxylene which grew $7.16/mt on a day-today basis to $983.83/mt. During the morning and afternoon Asian hours,
there were no physical bids or offers FOB Korea. There were
some opaque bids and offers between 4:30 and 4:00 pm Singapore time. However,
there was no deal in the Market on Close. Laycans for
August were valued at the intraday price of $751/mt. The floating
price of FOB Korea cargoes was also lowered significantly during the day. The
August Weekly Mean of the -based offers were heard at as low as $1/mt FOB Korea
