- Trade indicators heard stable- Nylon market stays weak

The fundamentals of the
Asian caprolactam markets were not significantly affected in the week ending
March 30, as participants continued to focus on the weakness within the nylon
sector. The trade indication on March 30 was lower than in the previous week. It
was $1,700/mt, which left the CFR Far East Asia caprolactam, and CFR Southeast
Asia carolactam at lower levels. Despite reducing production, some producers struggled to keep profit
margins for intermediate products to produce downstreams. A source said that the "seasonal" demand did not exist for nylon. The usual March month is when demand is strongest.
