Asian paraxylene is down on the day, but
tight supplies in Asia may support the market for the short term. Asian paraxylene was down $14/mt for the day, at
$993/mt. A trader from North Asia reported that the price
dropped despite the fact that the US summer driving season is causing an
increase in aromatics imports. The trader stated that while PX
cargoes are not moving much, MX and toluene demand is strong. The trader
from North Asia stated, "I believe it's a second round," referring to
cargoes moving to the US. Sources said that US blending
activity improved in June following a weak May. Sources also
