linear low density polyethylene market experienced a decrease in availability
due to limited imports. This was because imports from the US and Middle East
into the European market had become limited. Although the European
market is still weak, the decrease in imports has helped to balance the market.
This was due to European producers trying to pass increases on to consumers
after stronger upstream monomers. Due to
the lower availability of LLDPE, the targeted price increases for have
been more than the increases in monomer prices. It remains to be seen how price negotiations will go.
