MTBE in Asia fell 50 cents to $992/mt on April 29, compared to April 26, due to weaker crude oil. However, the decline was tempered by higher gasoline margins. In Asian trade at 0830 GMT, June ICE Brent crude futures fell 28 cents, to $88.87/b. Meanwhile, 92 RON gasoline FOB Singapore dropped 5 cents, to $101.64/b. This resulted in a gasoline margin of 1.83%, to $12.77/b. From April 26 to 29, domestic prices for blendstocks, other liquid petrochemicals, and MTBE fell in China. On April 29, no firm discussions were heard regarding H2 May-loading FOB China MTBE cargoes, as the Chinese market is winding down before a long holiday beginning May 1.
