According to a reliable source, the spot European benzene price increased on April 16 as the recent outages of the styrene markets were expected to be resolved in the second half or even May. Low cracker run rates have affected pyrolysis gas and benzene supplies in Europe in recent months. While current levels of European supply are enough to satisfy demand, this may change as the summer driving season approaches. Since April 15, no deals have been made in the European Benzene Market. The spot styrene price remained unchanged despite the recent tightening of supply due to outages at TotalEnergies Gonfreville and LyondellBasell's Maasvlakte joint-venture plant.
