The European propylene market continued to experience a supply shortage in the week ending April 19. Consumer caution and the spot market activity were still tempered by the tightening of the supply. The market conditions were less volatile this week than in Q1, with less immediate demand due to the availability of more material and increased resistance against discounts below a single-digit level. Due to the wider availability, sellers reported that they had volume for sale in April's second half. It is the first year in 2024 that no sold-out volumes were reported for the first half. The increased relaxation of restrictions on imports has also led to a stronger market supply.
