Chinese market continues to grow / China imposes tariffs on Unv1 imports

As traders continued to wait and see, Asian propylene price remained stable on June 6, despite the constant rise in domestic China. The trade sources attribute the increase in Shandong propylene prices to maintenance work at a dehydrogenation facility in the region, while east China prices remained stable due to unchanged fundamentals in supply and demand. Shandong propylene was assessed at Yuan 6,870/mt, up Yuan $30/mt from the previous day. The east China price remained unchanged at Yuan 7,025/mt. The majority of sources were of the opinion that the increase in price is unlikely to last long, as regional buyers have managed their inventory well and are covered.
