Asian polypropylene prices mixed
week-on-week March 1. China domestic Raffia grades prices fell Yuan 75/mt week,
closing at Yuan 7.775/mt. In China the purported resumption
downstream operations has not yet pushed prices up. Some sources claim that the converter operation
rates in China are about 80%, but prices have been held lower by poor futures
performance. However, there has been some speculation as to whether the
resumption of downstream operations in China will result in higher prices. Some market
segments believe that China's political elite will introduce additional
