Sources claim that Asian MTBE fell on June
15 due to a lack of demand and a thin market. Asian MTBE prices fell by $44.28/mt on a
day-on-day basis to $919.65/mt at FOB Singapore, June 15. Trafigura
made an offer of $921/mt during the Market on Close assessment on June 15. The
2,000 mt was to be loaded at the end of July 7-11. No trades
took place during the MOC process on June 15, and the FOB Singapore marker's
price was set at $919.54/mt, below the $921/mt offer. A trader
stated that there were fewer buying signals in the market, as participants
believed supply for July's loading in Singapore was sufficient. The market
