The Asian styrene markets rose on June 16
in response to higher crude oil prices. As of 0830 GMT, the front-month ICE Brent futures contract
increased $1.91/b. East China's domestic
market benefited from the stronger crude oil markets, as the prompt marker
gained Yuan 120/mt to Yuan 7,685/mt. East
China's inventories fell for the fourth week in a row, to 45,600 mt, in the
week ending June 14. A trader said that
since fundamentals haven't changed much in recent months, prices are now more
closely tracking crude oil. The intermonth
spreads on the Chinese domestic market have also shrunk due to higher crude oil
