The Asian low sulfur fuel oil market structure and refining margins were seen strengthening Feb. 5, after the cash premium for the marine fuel dropped to its lowest level in nearly three weeks amid lackluster buying interests and competitive offers for physical cargoes. The Singapore marine fuel 0.5%S balance February- March swaps time spread was pegged at $6.75/mt in midafternoon Feb. 5, up 25 cents from the assessment of the spread at the Asian close Feb. 4, while the March-April spread was pegged at $6.25/mt Feb. 5, up from $5.80/mt in the preceding session.
