On May 4, Asian isomer grade mixed xylene
fell $4/mt from day to day, falling to $923/mt for FOB Korea and $946/mt for
CFR Unv1, and $15/mt, dropping down at $950/mt, CFR China, amid lower upstream
prices and China returning from its holiday, catching up on international price
movements during the holiday. The
price of July ICE Brent crude futures was down $0.94/barrel to $73.11/b in
Asian trade at 0830 GMT. Paraxylene
downstream prices fell $8/mt per day to $1,010.67/mt for CFR Unv1/China. The
PX-MX Spread narrowed to $87.67/mt – the lowest since March 15, at $83.17/mt. China-based traders said that buyers are interested in
cargoes arriving in May. They have buy ideas of $940-945/mt and indicated
tradable levels for June between...
