Asian mixed isomer xylene increased $1/mt
on a day-to-day basis at $901.50/mt at FOB Korea. It remained unchanged at
$923.50/mt at CFR Unv1 or $917/mt at CFR China, May 25, amid an increase in
downstream paraxylene as well as upstream crude. Asian paraxylene rose
$2.50/mt in a single day to $987/mt for CFR Unv1/China, and $964/mt for FOB
Korea on May 25. The July ICE Brent crude
futures contract, which closed at $77.76/b in Asia on May 25, was up $10
cents/b by 4:30 pm Singapore time. The
market participants reported that there was low demand for Asian MX oil from
the US. Some market participants kept a
close eye on the US market to see if there were signs that demand would pick up...
