Volumes Asia's styrene markets declined $18-23/mt
due to a market that is increasingly pessimistic about the demand outlook. This low level was last seen on December 20,
2022, five months earlier. The FOB Korea and CFR China marks
were both assessed at $990/mt on May 15, down by $18/mt since May 12. The domestic
China styrene markets fell on the back of a bearish outlook for demand. Domestic
China prompt markers fell Yuan 120/mt, to Yuan 7,940/mt, on an ex tank basis.
This is around $989/mt based on import parity, and below the Yuan 8,00/mt mark. A trader in
China stated that the decline today was due to both crude oil prices and market
