CGP to Soften Due to Improved Supply Expectations / May contract settles with a EUR10/mt reduction over April

The European propylene price was largely stable, as the production interruptions dictated supply and demand fundamentals. This stability was more apparent in the PGP market compared to CGP despite some production being restarted. Some trade in the CGP market was heard near the lower end of the discount range. This implied a firmer indication for price. A 1,000 mt parcel at 13% off was heard. Some sources indicated that the CGP grade was in short supply, while others suggested a soft outlook. Uncertainty surrounded the restart of several key production sites. Total's Gonfreville plant was one such site. The supply shortages experienced recently are expected to ease once these issues have been resolved and imported products arrive.
