As the discussion levels remained largely
unchanged, Asian monoethylene-glycol prices held steady at $465-485/mt CIF
China on June 20. Sources reported that the end demand
was still low, with the Chinese economy expected to improve the situation. Few sources
confirmed that US cargoes are being offered to China for arrivals in late July
or August. According to a source on the market, operating
rates at MEG factories in China were around 49% during the week. The August
ICE Brent Futures contract rose 36 cents/b (0.47%) from its previous close of
$76.61/b on 20th June at 4.30pm Singapore time.
