Asian Caprolactam: Rising prices boosted by the recovery of China's domestic market / Recovery in China's domestic markets / CPDC December contract price at $1,480/mt

Prices of Asian caprolactam increased as the market sentiment improved after China's recovery. Asian caprolactam prices rose $5/mt on the week at CFR Far East Asia, $1,515/mt December 5. East China's domestic prices of the molten-grade were heard to be Yuan 150-200/mt higher than the previous week, at around Yuan 11250-11350/mt. According to a source on the market, caprolactam plants were operating at near capacity in China, while downstream nylon-6 plants, also known by its acronym PA-6, maintained rates of around 94%. Although spot trading outside China remained low, PA-6 saw an improvement in buying sentiment. The recovery of China's price is supporting the market sentiment in Asia.
