Asian Caprolactam : Stable or firmer before May discussions / South Asia's spot demand /Benzene drops slightly but still remains strong

The price of Asian caprolactam remained stable at $1,690/mt for the second week in a row, despite the fact that the average price of benzene fell $5.60/mt from the previous week to $1,068.10/mt on April 18th. However, the market in Northeast Asia reported the peak season had passed, and the demand was down as end users were reducing operations. The peak season has passed and demand is lower as end-users are lowering operations. A market source in Northeast Asia said the peak seasonhas passed and there was a drop in demand due to the reduction of operations.
