Despite limited market activity, the FOB
Singapore MTBE was $978/mt at the end of May. Total had offered 2,000mt
of MTBE at $980/mt but withdrew the offer before 1630 Singapore time. Vitol, on
the other hand, offered 2,000mt of MTBE at $979/mt. No trades took place during the MOC assessment process on
May 29, and the FOB Singapore marker price was set at $978/mt, below the
offered price. A trader reported that the
market began the week with offers of $960/mt, FOB Shandong, for 5,000 mt, for
July loading, and $970/mt, FOB North China, for 10,000 mt, for H2 July
-H1August loading. However, no buyers were heard on the market. The market in Singapore is reportedly able to handle June
loading cargoes, as the arbitrage window...
