buy-sell gap in the Asian ethylene market remains wide. Lower buying
indications were heard on the back of deals heard completed the previous day
May 25, ranging from $770- $780/mt CFR Northeast Asia for July arrival. On the
other hand, selling indications remained firm, with some participants citing
volatile naphtha prices as a factor. Market participants are pinning on a
recovery in the Chinese market to improve margins in downstream markets and
support ethylene demand. Some market sources said crackers in the region --
South Korea and China -- are ending their turnarounds which would increase
