The Asian butadiene price discussions fell during the week ending on April 26. Both buying and selling indicators were lower than the previous week due to the expected growth in supply for June cargoes, as well as the arrival of deepsea cargoes. In the past week, buying indications dropped below $1450/mt CFR China Unv1 and Northeast Asia. Some firm indications were heard at $1400/mt or below CFR China and Northeast Asia. Sellers were reluctant to lower prices despite an expected increase in supply for June. They cited low availability as the reason. There will be some deepsea deliveries in late May or early June. However, the overall supply of Asia is likely to be low, because crackers are not planning on running at full capacity even after turnarounds have ended....
