On Oct. 2, Asian butadiene was stable at $1,590/mt CFR China despite a thin holiday trade. Due to the Golden Week holidays in China, there were few discussions about spot prices on Oct. 2. Chinese market participants are expected to return next Monday. The first supplies from Southeast Asia appeared on October 2, with a Malaysian sell tender for cargoes to be loaded in late October. A cracker shut down was reported unintentionally in Southeast Asia. This could lead to a shortage of spot supplies. The rubber market sentiment remained strong downstream, pushing up Asia's market for natural rubber amid concerns about supply shortages.
