Asian Butadiene : CFR China stable at 3-month Low / Rubber market in decline / Korea's supply could emerge in the coming weeks

In a day of directionless trading, the price of Asian butadiene remained stable from day to day at $1350/mt CFR China on March 14. This is a new low for three months. This week, both buyers and sellers resisted engaging in discussions about spot prices. Due to a shortage of deepsea material, the availability of spot materials was restricted this week. Several trading sources reported that offers from the Middle East had also dried up. This week, Asia-sourced supplies were scarce. Butadiene is limited in Northeast Asia during steam cracker turnaround. A company source confirmed that Lotte Chemical of South Korea plans to close its Daesan naphtha steam cracker from April 12-16 for maintenance. The cracker is used to support a butadiene production plant that produces 190,000 tons per year....
