Brazil PP : Homopolymer Prices Hold Stable, Copolymer Prices Rise / PP copolymer $10/mt higher / Slow demand for PP reported

On Sept. 4, prices of polypropylene imported into Brazil were unchanged for homopolymer and $10/mt more for copolymer, considering similar market fundamentals to the previous weeks. One buyer stated that the majority of PP offers were stable. However, copolymer grade from Asian origins "inched up by $5". A trader, on the other hand said that China is "selling surplus materials, and a lot of exports are taking place". The CFR prices, however, were mainly affected by the higher freight rates on the Asian market. Another trader had forecast that freight rates would drop in September but now has pushed this back to "October after the Chinese holidays".
