Prices for polyethylene imports into Brazil, mostly from the US, rose by $10/mt, or remained stable over the week as buyers did not want to accept higher prices. A third trader stated that "this is a time of transition". "Buyers still keep looking for lower prices. The market was quieter last week. This week, the market is more active. Importers are also facing difficulties with the availability of certain PE grades. The market was lacking in certain grades of high density blowmolding, film and linear butene, and low density films. An importer stated that "prices for US imports have increased, and the dollar rate has also increased in the past couple of weeks." We need to increase prices to replace our stock.
