Prices for imports of polyethylene from the US into Brazil remained unchanged in the week ending June 19. Traders complained about the limited offers from US producers while buyers still sought lower prices following several price increases. A trader stated that the dollar exchange rate is higher, in addition to US prices increasing. We are having difficulty in applying price increases. Importers said that the market conditions were not favorable at this time. The exchange rate is so high that clients are afraid to buy. The dollar rate in Brazil has reached its highest levels in a year and a half on June 18th, and even higher levels were reached on June 19th atReal $5.47/$1.
