Sources said that the market outlook is
bearish due to the low demand. One source,
however, said that he had heard about demand from the US Gulf Coast, for
gasoline blending in addition to toluene. On June 20,
Asian isomer MX was up $6/mt on the day, to $876/mt at FOB Korea; $895/mt at
CFR Unv1; and $2 at 889/mt at CFR China. Crude
futures were rangebound. The ICE Brent crude oil contract for
August was trading at $76.61/b as of 4:30 pm Singapore time. On June 20,
paraxylene prices rose $5.50/mt on a day basis to $990.33/mt on a CFR
Unv1/China base, mainly due to stronger bids heard during the Market on Close
process. PX-MX's spread shrank by 50 cents/mt to
$114.33/mt...
