price of Asian monoethylene glycol due to a weak demand and lull. This trend is expected to
continue for the next few months, according to sources. Market sources stated that the majority of recycled MEG
resin was used in Southeast Asia with 10%-20% being exported to other regions,
such as China and US. Traders said that
recycled resin is usually blended with primary material to meet the technical
specifications of end users. Market
sources also said that there is no deposit refund system in Asia, and the
producer's responsibility has not been extended. They said that there was currently no circularity in plastic
