- Bidding activity against no offers- France continues to be hit by
strikes

Spot European MTBE prices
rose $12/mt per day to $1130.25/mt March 30, due to increased demand. This was
despite no offers being made during the Market On Close assessment process. Lyondell offered 1,000 mt front-end loading at $1130/mt to beat all offers
during the MOC. Supply has been squeezed by strikes at French refineries. In recent weeks, this has led to higher prices. One trader stated that European MTBE prices were closer to US ones, which
could indicate that more European MTBE volumes will remain in Europe. From $165.50-180.90/mt. March 29, the front-month gasoline/naphtha spread
increased to $168.50/mt. March 30.
