Bid-offer Gap Remains Wide / China's Fujian Wanjing will maintain its 1 million mt/year PDH at 100% in May

In the week ending April 26, the Asian propylene markets were stable due to mixed views of buyers and sellers on near-term issues. This resulted in a wide gap between offers and bids. Sources said that the offers in Northeast Asia were mostly maintained during the week because of volatility in upstream markets, which led to uncertainty about higher feedstock costs. The demand was however slow, as downstream producers also had poor margins and so failed to keep up with the higher indications. If offers remained at this level, or increased, buyers would just remain on the sidelines. "But they can't lower it [offers]," said a propylene purchaser, adding that limited trading activity was the result.
