- Benzene withdraws after gaining a day
earlier- Styrene is also in limited demand

After gaining the previous day due to a
rise in crude oil prices, spot European benzene prices fell amid low demand on
April 4. Traders said
that the uptrend was "a flash-in-the pan" and "shortlived"
adding that the initial support provided by higher crude oil prices had been
undermined due to a lack in demand. In the
wake of recent volatility buyers were reported to have pulled out of the
market, with no bids recorded April 4. Styrene
also saw limited demand, but had a tighter supply-demand balance that benzene. According to a market source, there was an impact on supply
due to strikes in France. However, there was still plenty available after
March's arrival of import volumes.

Exclusive market movement data, shipping lineups, demand signals and pricing rationale continue in full report.
