- Benzene trading pushes upward- Styrene Supply Pressure is
Easing

The bullish market trend
continued on April 13 as the European benzene price increased. The laycan for five to thirty days of forward delivery was valued at
$1,075-1,105/mt CIF-ARA. This is up $24-29/mt from the previous day. A source reported that the US was providing support for the European
benzene markets, as the aromatic demand from gasoline blend pools was higher. Styrene prices downstream were stable on the day. In the last week, there was some demand. Some producers bought and talked
of production problems hitting an European plant. Sources said that this had eased the pressure on high stock levels.
