Benzene spot trade increases to 404 cents/gal at Port Arthur / Crude Oil Futures Settle Lower

Mixed spot market activity was reported on May 10, with Benzene spot price rising to 404 cents/gal DDP US Gulf Coast. On May 9, 25,000 barrels of benzene were sold at 405 cents/gal for loading in May. Estimates put the freight differential between Port Arthur, Texas and Houston at about 1.5 cents/gal. Another benzene trade was reported to have been concluded at 404 Cents/gal DDP Freeport, and tradable prices on the USGC were also heard at this price. Bidding was heard for May benzene volume in the high 390s cents/gal DDP. However, sellers were less active, as there were only a few offers for barrels at the spot price.
