Asian Benzene prices: rangebound as markets related to it are mixed / Traders reconsider sending cargoes into the US / CPC to release its buy-out tender next week

Amid mixed movements on related markets, Asian benzene was up 66 cents/mt for the day at $1,021.33/mt, FOB Korea. The front-month ICE Brent contract increased 53 cents/b during the session, to $86.11/b. Meanwhile, naphtha prices rose by $4/mt, to $705/mt, C+F Japan. The CFR China marker for styrene Monomer fell $17/mt in the downstream markets. Market participants in the FOB Korea market expressed mixed opinions about the arbitrage between Asia and the US. Last assessed US DDP Marker at 380 Cents/gal is equivalent to $1137/mt. This puts the Asia-US Spread at $116/mt. Some market sources said that freight for a Medium Range Chemical Tanker (MR) fully loaded was about $100/ mt.
