the Asian benzene markets ended their session with low activity levels on March
3. The spread of bids and offers for
prices was not very clear. The FOB Korea benzene marker
increased almost $10/mt over the course of March to $943.67/mt. Trade
momentum seemed to be steady in Asia, but not outside China. A few
Southeast Asia benzene cargoes had been offered earlier in week. The tender
closed February 28. The cargoes were intended for March loading. Recent
sessions indicated that discussions in China's domestic market were
intensifying, which led to laycan prices rising in east China. The Yuan
7,300/mt mark was the highest price for H2 March laycans. China...
