Asian BENZENE: Prices rise tracking gains upstream / Upstream crude oil rises $1.89/b in a single day / MRPL issues a sell tender for Sep cargo

The Asian benzene FOB Korea mark rose $21/mt to $1028.67/mt while the CFR China marked rose $19/mt to $1050/mt. Prices were heard to increase throughout the day due to a stronger upstream oil market. Discussions continued. Crude oil futures returned to their gains from the beginning of the week on August 29. Concerns about a lackluster Chinese economy were countered by a stronger demand outlook in the US based upon the latest estimates for the gross domestic product and consumer spending. Futures rose in the afternoon Asian trade of August 30 before the release of China's factory activity and services data, which will be published over the weekend.
