Asian Benzene: Prices drop amid weaker naphtha, styrene / Naphtha falls $6.75/mt, styrene loses $12/mt / China Aug imports reach 406,000 mt

The Asian benzene price fell during the trading session of Sept. 20 due to weakness in downstream markets for styrene Monomer. Brent futures for the front month rose by 2 cents/b at the Asian close, to $74.47/b. The C+F Japan Naphtha marker was $6.75/mt down on the trading session. The styrene Monomer CFR China Marker at $1,085/mt is down $12/mt from the previous trading session. Hengli sold FOB Korea for November to BP at $925/mt during the Market on Close process. On CFR China, cargoes were offered for November and October deliveries. The last offers, for a cargo of 6,000 mt, heard premiums of $41/mt ($47/mt) and $41/mt ($41/mt), respectively, over the weekly mean of Korea (wMOPK) base price for the delivery month.
