Asian Benzene: Prices rise amid stronger aromatic compounds / SE Asia markets are characterized by a lack of activity / Sinopec reduces list price by Yuan100/mt / CPC Buy tender closes at WMOPK plus $35.50/mt

Prices for Asian benzene were $6/mt higher than the previous day, at $936.33/mt F.O.B. Korea on Sept. 27. This was amid a mixture of bullish and bearish signals. Brent futures for the month of January rose by 13 cents/b, to $71.91/b. This was the Asian closing price. The C+F Japan Naphtha Marker is up $3/mt to $645.625/mt. The downstream styrene monmer marker was up $20/mt for the day to $1,078.50/mt, CFR China. Toluene increased $21/mt, to $751/mt, FOB Korea, and paraxylene rose $20.50/mt, to $867.67/mt, CFR Taiwan/China. A Southeast Asia-based producer noted that no buyers had made any firm offers.
