Asian Benzene: mixed on the trading session / FOB Korea falls, CFR China rises / CFR China contract negotiations start

The Asian benzene market was mixed on October 18. The FOB Korea mark fell by $2/mt, to $880/mt, while the CFR China mark rose $5/mt, to $908/mt. As of the Asian close the Brent front-month futures contract had risen 1 cent/b, to $74.46/b, whereas the C+F Japan Naphtha marker dropped $3.625/mt, to $658.875/mt. The market was largely occupied with an industry conference held in China. Discussions were sparse. Sources indicate that market participants are returning from the conference with early indications of the premium on CFR China compared to the weekly mean of FOB Korea's base price (wMOPK).
