As bids for September FOB Korea continue to rise, Asian benzene continued its upward trend on August 8, increasing by $4.66/mt per day to $1.014.33/mt. The upstream markets ended with a generally positive outcome. As of the Asian closing, the frontmonth ICE Brent contract increased $1.40/b in the session. The naphtha C+F Japan mark was $12.50/mt higher than the previous day, at $659.50/mt on August 8. The September laycan has continued to gain ground against the October on FOB Korea's physical markets. Market on Close assessed bids at a higher rate, reaching a high of $1,030/mt, before hearing lower bids. The September laycan was assessed at $1.027/mt. The bullish September trend did not continue in October, as the offer for the laycans was $990/mt. The laycans were assessed at $989/mt....
