Asian Benzene: Climbs $14.34/mt on week amid firmer crude, rollover / Crude oil up by nearly $3/b / Toluene jumps $34/mt

Asian benzene increased by $14.34/mt to $902.67/mt on November 1, due to rising upstream oil prices. The marker laycans were also shifted forward from H1 December to H2 December. In Asian trade, the January ICE Brent crude futures rose $2.77/barrel to $74.72/b by 0830 GMT on November 1. This resulted in benzene increasing $13.34/mt from October 30. Toluene prices increased by $6/mt week-on-week on November 1 due to the increase in crude oil. Upstream toluene also rose $34/mt on November 1. The benzene/toluene differential remains attractive, at $172.67/mt. This is up from $164.33/mt last week.
