Asian Benzene : China tightens up on June cargoes / The spread between June and July continues to increase in China / South Korean exports likely to fall in June

Asian benzene fell by $3.67/mt during the trading session to $998.33/mt, FOB Korea on June 21. The benzene market ended the week lower, with all four trading sessions moving against rising crude oil prices. As of the Asian closing, the front-month ICE Brent contract increased 38 cents/b, to $85.52/b, while the Naphtha C+F Japan mark at $703375/mt rose $3.50/mt in one day. Taiwan's discussions on spot cargoes were very limited. A trader said that "market discussions for July are mostly over, and [market participants] in Taiwan have begun to talk about cargoes for August." The June-July spread in China continued to increase to Yuan 860/mt, as east China port stocks remain low. A trader said that port inventories were above 10,000 mt. This is close to nothing.
