US Gulf Coast benzene fell for the fourth day in a row on
April 25. Prices were down 8% from April 19, with front-month prices. According to one source,
the sudden drop in benzene price was due to "several macroeconomic
factors" that affected the market. DDP
benzene in May at 362 cents/gal, according to a reported trade. This is 7 cents
lower than the previous day's price and the lowest since April 10. It is equivalent to $1,083-1,113/mt. This is still higher
than downstream styrene, which was $1,050-1,080/mt. However, it's getting
closer to breakeven. The NYMEX June RBOB
