Benzene falls $18/mt, ammonia stable / Thailand's Ube Chemicals closes its plant to undergo a turnaround

Trading activity was limited, keeping the Asian caprolactam price at $1,510 CFR Fareast Asia for the week ending Nov. 7. Prices were weaker upstream, with benzene falling $17.66/mt, to $871.67/mt, FOB Korea. Ammonia CFR Fareast Asia was also stable, at $460/mt. Sources in China indicated that the domestic market experienced a slight price rebound. A producer in China stated that "downstream buyers expressed an interest in stock replenishment so there was a rise in prices." A buyer in Taiwan stated that their company had not traded on the spot market in recent times, but instead relied solely on contract volumes. The buyer said that prices remained stable despite limited activity. The source stated that he would set a range of tradable prices between $1,500 and $1,520/mt (CFR Taiwan) in anticipation...
