Benzene, ethylbenzene stay stable / Crude Futures slightly rise

US Gulf Coast benzene prices were unchanged on April 19, despite little change in crude futures prices and stable downstream spot styrene prices. spot April DDP benzene at 401 cents/gal DDP USG and April FOB benzene at 406 cents/gal FOB USG. Prices for May were stable and assessed at 401 Cents/gal DDP and 406 Cents/gal FOB. Ethylbenzene was assessed at 351 Cents/gal for April DDP, and 357 Cents/gal for May DDP. The FOB-DDP premium was unchanged at 5 cents. April and May prices were flat. The backwardation between June and May remained at one cent. There were fewer bid-offer differences reported than in previous sessions. Although benzene supplies were tighter than anticipated, prices fell for the week.
